I am approaching the big Seven O birthday in September. So, a birthday challenge feels appropriate. I have chosen to enter the Manchester 100 mile cycle sportif, as something appropriate to my advancing years (and retreating capabilities). I have never ridden a full 100 miles in a single day, so it is an actual challenge into the unknown 

Such challenges, are very personal goals, and in the past, for big birthdays, I have ticked off these personal goals, without raising general awareness, or supporting causes through sponsorship requests.

But, as this upcoming 70th birthday feels like major significant  life milestone to me, I consider it appropriate to support a charity that has touched my family life as well as thousands of other families who have been challenged by cancer.

Any donation would be deeply appreciated by me and obviously by The Christie too.
