Everest base camp to the peak! · 4 April 2022

Macmillan Caring Locally works in partnership with the NHS to fund the Macmillan Unit, a Hospice and specialist palliative care unit at Christchurch Hospital in Dorset. Please note that we are not connected in any way to the national charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Story

Hi! I’m Frank and I’m 6 years old. I really liked hearing about how Captain Sir Tom Moore enjoyed seeing Everest in the story of his life, and the amazing things he did. South Base Camp is in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 metres. Everest stands at 8849m at its height. I’d like to swim the difference at 3458m, and that’s why I’d like to fundraiser £345.80! I’ll be swimming 140 lengths (of 25m) at the local pool to raise money just like he did for lots of people and completing the swim during my Easter holiday this year, 10 lengths a day. I like that he said “The first step is always the hardest. But unless you take that first step, you’ll never finish” and “ you can do and be anything you want” so I hope you can help me help others.

139.4 lengths (25m)
