Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We have recently set up a fund in Freddie's name to directly raise funds for brain tumour research.

Freddie was diagnosed at 2 years old following a long deteriorationin in his health with a Right Ventricular Ganglioglioma. Due to the position and the fact that Freddie's tumour is heavily calcified, there are currently no treatment options for Freddie. Freddie continues to fight as do so many others.

It's called The Freddie Tully Fund and all money raised through this page with be donated to the Brain Tumour Charity and more specifically, into Freddie's Fund within the charity.

Freddie also has a facebook page dedicated to his fund you can find it and follow his story by searching The Freddie Tully Fund.

We would like to aim to raise as much money as possible for research into brain tumour. All in Freddie's name. When we eventually reach our target we will be able to direct our funds into specific areas of brain tumour research. Possibly into research into Freddie's specific tumour or into paediatric tumours etc.

Research into childhood brain tumours is shockingly underfunded. Infact children diagnosed today have no better chance of survival (five years post diagnosis) than they did 20 years ago. Amazingly long term survival rates for children diagnosed with the most common form of leukaemia have been compleatly turned on their heads as a result of funding meaning that now these children have a 90% chance of long survival.

We need to help to make these amazing achievements for brain tumour patients too. Currently brain tumour reasearch as a whole for both adult and paediatric tumours recieve less than 2% of cancer research funds. This equates for less than 75p in every £100 raised going directly to paediatric tumours.

Currently, brain tumours are the biggest killer of children in the U.K. over and above all other cancers AND disease combined. Let that sink in...

We will be doing all sorts of fundraising events and fun things from now onwards with the hope of raising these vital funds in Freddie's name.

Thank you so much for visiting Freddie's page xx
