Freya Taylor-Burton - swimming for cancer; the hat trick year!!

Swimathon 2020 · 27 March 2020 to 31 December 2020 ·
Hello, I’m Freya Taylor-Burton and again I’m taking part in the national Swimathon. After completing 1500m last year and 400m in 2018 I have so far raised over £1000. This year I’ll be making it my hat trick year by swimming 🏊 2500m at my local swimming pool for Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie & The Swimathon Foundation because I want to do my bit in the continued fight.
Most of us have been, or will be, affected in one way or another by Cancer. I'm 10yrs old and Cancer deprived me of an uncle, has taken other family members too and I know of others currently affected.
I love swimming and so by doing this I hope to do my bit to help those who continue to fight and need support. Anything you are able to give - however small - will help make a big difference and I’d be extremely grateful for anything anyone is happy and able to donate.
#SwimForAll – in aid of the above charities – takes place all over the country between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th March 2020. There are several categories in which to compete, including individual and family/team, and I chose to register in the 2500m individual category.
I’ll be completing my challenge on 29th March at Hitchin Swimming Pool.
On the 27th - 29th March, over 21,000 swimmers will be heading down to over 600 pools across the UK to raise money for our two amazing charity partners.
Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity is dedicated to saving lives through funding research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Cancer Research UK are the only charity fighting over 200 cancer types but don't receive any government funding for their work, so their progress is all thanks to the support of people like you.
Marie Curie provides expert care, guidance and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Around 2,100 Marie Curie Nurses work day and night, in people’s homes all over the UK, providing hands-on care to people when they need it most.
Together we can really make a difference. We invite our swimmers to tell their story to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for these two incredible causes.
