Friendly Welcome London is a group of Londoners who are responding to the refugee crisis by supporting a refugee family to come to London and settle here. We are doing this under the nationwide Community Sponsorship scheme, which is backed by the UK Government.

We are all volunteers, from different backgrounds and with different skills, who share a commitment to supporting a family to recover and rebuild their lives. 

The Community Sponsorship programme, exists to enable ordinary citizens to fundamentally change a family’s lives by bringing them safely to the UK, and then supporting and empowering them to settle and integrate here.  You can read more about it here : https://www.sponsorrefugees.org

Families who come under this programme are particularly vulnerable, even among fellow refugees who have fled their homes because of conflict and danger to their lives. They have been forced to leave behind not only their homes and possessions, but their family, friends, community, culture and way of life. 

As part of our commitment, we need to:

- Raise a minimum of £15,000. Please give what you can!

- Find a home in Camden rented at, or close to, the cost of housing benefits, with a minimum 2 year contract 

- Support their transition to life in the UK.
