Story
Lola is my 6 year old daughter, who had an idea in the playground one day. Like many little girls, she likes to collect stones in her pockets and imagines they are precious. To her and her friends they are. She likes to pair them up and embellish them and give them back to her friends. She calls them Friendship Rocks.
She wanted to make more and sell them in pairs so other children could give them to their friends too, with the money going to the NSPCC, children who don't always have a friend.
And this is where I hope you will step in. Logistically she cannot make hundreds of "Friendship rocks" herself, but we can enable your children to make their own and pass their takings on to the NSPCC also.
We have made packs for you to download, available at www.friendshiprocks.co.uk. Please visit our page and encourage your children to be creative and get involved. We have recycled old jewellery packaging for our Rocks, but feel free to improvise whatever you can find in your own way. We recommend that each pair of rocks sell for 50p. They are a lovely gift for Grandparents, Aunties, Parents, Carers aswell as friends.
And Lola would love to see your creations! Please tweet them with #friendshiprocks
Thanks for getting involved!
