Furness Expandables Glasgow-Broughton 2017 · 28 May 2017

Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

We are a cycling group that was created by a small group of staff from Furness College.  We call ourselves ‘The Furness Expandables’.  As the years have rolled on the group has increased in size and now includes friends who work outside the College.  This year there will be 15 riders  and each year (and this is the groups ninth year)  we take on a cycling challenge and choose a charity to raise money for.  This year we have selected ‘Prostate Cancer UK’ as a number of the group have had friends and family diagnosed with the disease and would like to contribute to the on-going work carried out by this charity.
