Gary's rides Lands End to John O Groats

Over the past few years I have lost both my father and my brother. My father had severe problems with his heart for many years and I can remember a time when I was in Papworth hospital and they told me he only had a 10% chance of living till tomorrow. Well the stubborn sod walked out of that hospital two days later.
During that time I spent hours at his bedside and was amazed at the level of care he was given and the knowledge they had, because of funding through various causes.
These events gave me a kick up my backside and I decided to start cycling to lose weight and get fit. Last year I lost over three stone and now ride 150 miles a week.
So there is no better way to celebrate both my fathers and brothers exisitance than doing something which is considered an extreme challenge.
960 miles, 10 days and a lot of Vaseline. If doing this raises a pound and changes somebodies chance of living then my pain, and sore arse will be worth it.
August 24th I start my challenge and I will be posting my progress as I go.
If you can spare that pound and support me then that's great, I won't be nagging you for funds, but all help whether financial or otherwise will make every mile worth while.
