14 of us brave (mad) souls will be heading off to Geneva shortly to undertake a grueling cycling challenge.  In just seven short days we will cycle 684km to Nice and endure over 58,089ft of climbing! 

Some of us have already completed a cycling challenge in 2015 (but not like this!) and 5 of us are totally new to this type of thing. It will be tough and honestly, we're not sure any of us are fully prepared for how tough it is going to be. 

We're doing it to raise funds for research into treating liver cancer. There are 16 new cases of liver cancer every day and it is increasing all the time. It's a notoriously difficult cancer to treat, with just 9% of people surviving 5 years after diagnosis. But with the right focused research we know that there are breakthroughs within reach.  Professor Nigel Heaton from King's College Hospital is a member of our cycling team.  As well as being a liver transplant surgeon he is carrying out exciting research into identifying new bio-markers which will lead to faster diagnosis and personalised treatments which will be more effective. 

But in order for this research to progress, we need to raise more funds.  This is where you come in. If you would consider supporting our challenge, no matter how much or how little you can spare, it would make a tremendous difference.

When the going gets really tough along the way (and it will!), we'll remind ourselves that the funds we're raising will help King's to do more to treat the patients we see at King’s with liver disease, thank you.
