When you need life saving care in minutes and then need to travel quickly to a Major Trauma Centre (Newcastle/Middlesbrough/Preston) or to a specialist Paediatric Centre (Newcastle/Middlesbrough/Liverpool Alder Hey), you need an aircraft that has a Doctor/Paramedic team and flies at over 170mph. Bringing that hours in the land ambulance to under 30 minutes in the Air Ambulance.
