At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 4 years ago. We have lived through 4 years of having to watch and support  mum go from being fairly independent, to now being unable to carry out any simple tasks for herself and recently having to go through the devastating decision of putting mum into a residential care home for her own safety and wellbeing. At the age of 72, mum has had much of her life taken away from her and we are losing the mum that we knew and loved gradually as the weeks and months go by. Dementia will affect so many of us, it is a cruel disease with no cure. Even if you do not donate, please take time to read about dementia as it is likely to affect most of us in our lives, become a Dementia Friend, keep your mind active, anything which may help!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
