We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When my Daughter Maggie was four months old she was taken to Great Ormond Street. We later found out that she had Laryngomalacia

Laryngomalacia is a congential softening of the tissues of the larynx (Voice Box) above the vocal cords. This is the most common cause of noisy breathing in infancy. The laryngeal structure is malformed and floppy, causing the tissues to fall over the airway opening and partially block it.

Maggie was taken down to theatre for an operation to to fix the Laryngomlacia. But faced complications 24 to 48 hours after

Doctors told us they would need to intervene immiediately, Or maggie wouldnt make it through the night. Maggie was taken into intensive care and placed in an induced coma for over two weeks. But the amazing Doctors & nurses got her through it. They saved her life!

I feel eternally grateful to the team at Great Ormond Street and have always wanted to find a way to say thank you properly

For that reason On May 6th 2022 I will be taking part in a Boxing Match ( which is well out of my comfort zone ) to raise money for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital
