Alzheimer's, dementia, whatever you want to call it, has affected me personally. It took my Nan long before she died and is also working its destructive magic on my mother-in-law. Years ago I worked with people suffering with dementia and whilst they can be cared for and made to feel safe it can be a very cruel condition for families and loved ones to cope with.
