We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

Why am i putting myself through this madness of cycling nearly 1000 miles in 9 days - Riding uphill the equivalent of almost twice the height of Everest? Why indeed!

Partly it's the challenge, but that's not all. It's also a lot about my mate Pete Webb.

Pete is 45, and last year he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. This has had a huge impact on his world and it's hard for him to share this very emotional story, so let me tell you a bit more about Pete.

Pete's a decorated officer in the Met having served 27 years. He's saved a number of lives in his time - one notably outside a Robbie Williams concert! I see first hand how he is a brilliant husband to Bridget and dad to his two kids (12 and 10). Together they love nothing more than to throw themselves head long into new adventures all over the world. "All I know now is that I need to stay as fit and positive as possible and do my best to keep the adventures going" say's Pete, "I was never expecting to be diagnosed with Parkinson's so young".

Please give generously to this fundraising effort. I'd love to smash my targets and in my own small way to make a difference to people like Pete across the UK. Finally in Pete's words "It’s so important to support Parkinson’s UK, and hopefully with your help a cure can soon be found."

Don't forget your gift aid and the government will donate a further 25%.

I am also collecting funds on a Virgin Money giving page. find this here  >  https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/GarryMansfield.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
