Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

I'm 59 this year and thought this would be a great challenge to mark my 60th year on the planet, 977miles in 12 days on the bike from bottom left to top right on the map of the UK. To make it more special for me I have the pleasure of the company of Chris(my son), Tommy (my nephew) and his friend Owen riding with me, and the support of family and friends.

Our youngest son, Rob, died on the 1st January 2013 aged 23 from a brain tumour. To raise money for Brain Tumour Research whilst carrying out this challenge is very personal to all involved, both those physically taking part in the ride and everyone supporting the riders both before, during and after the ride.

I'll post the daily routes once we have finalised our planning and if you feel like joining us for one or more legs then please let me know. It would be great to have some extra company and encouragement during the 12 days of cycling, commencing at Land's End on Saturday 29th August 2020, arriving at John O'Groats on 9th September 2020, all things being equal!!
