Snowdon 500 · 19 May 2012

Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My story.

My name is Gary I am 39 years old and have decided to do something postive in the fight against prostate cancer.

The facts

In 2009, 37,051 men in the UK were diagnosed with prostate cancer.

10,382 men in the UK died from prostate cancer in 2010.

But with more funding for research we hope to improve these figures and maybe one day find a cure.

So we have decided to take on the Snowdon 500 challenge on the 19th May. In our team is Claire Attwood and my daughter Elley Fletcher aged 10. Our goal is to climb Mount Snowdon and at 3,560 ft above sea leval this is a serious challenge, especially as none of us has never done any climbing before.
