Fundraising for Target Ovarian Cancer
Story
My fund raising effort has been inspired by my friend Pamela. Pamela and I have been close friends for a long time, too long to say because it would be ungallant of me to do so! Six years ago Pamela was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Not so long ago that would have amounted to a severely life limiting diagnosis. Fortunately matters have moved on somewhat and through the immense skill and knowledge of her doctors and Pamela’s sheer love of life and determination, that has not come to pass. In the intervening period Pamela has been able to experience the joy of the marriage of two of her children and the birth of two grandchildren. Time is indeed the most precious commodity we have.On Sunday 16 September I have agreed to take part in Target Ovarian Cancer's Pedal4Cancer event. This involves a cycle ride from London to Cambridge of approximately 100 km. I have the benefit of a support team (aka “the resuscitation team”) comprising some of the younger associates at my firm EIP. You can console yourself on the thought that they are all literally, less than half my age, so I am going to be a real drag on their efforts I would be extremely grateful if you could see your way to supporting me in this effort by making a donation to Target Ovarian Cancer. |
