Story
After a year off and knee reconstruction surgery I am once again running the Oxford Half Marathon in memory of our beautiful second son. Caspar was born 10 weeks premature and had both a rare genetic condition and also severe brain damage. Caspar lived for 5 months in neonatal intensive care and on a ventilator: firstly in Dubai then, after a trip home on an air ambulance, at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. His fight ended at Helen House Children's Hospice.
I am running the Oxford Half Marathon to raise money for SSNAP: A truly special charity that impacted ours and Caspar's short life, and well as that of our beautiful niece and many other special children we know.
SSNAP do amazing work at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, raising funds for equipment within the Special Care Baby Unit, supporting parents, and doing all they can to make every family's worst nightmare a little easier. From contributing to the equipment that kept Caspar alive and comfortable, to giving us kind words and chocolate (and Jen tea) on a rough day, they did so much.
If you are able to help me support this amazing charity, in memory of my son Caspar, thank you for your generous support.
