Story
Update: I had 22 inches of hair cut off! 20 inches (51cm) was plaited and donated to the Little Princesses Trust. Thanks again for everybody that has been donating, can't believe the money is going even higher for such a good cause!
Early next week (15th August-) I will be having approximately 30cm of my hair cut off to donate to the Little Princesses' Trust who make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other illnesses. I am also fundraising for Melanoma UK (previously Factor 50) in memory of Pete Waters (my mum's partner and my debate partner haha).
Sadly, in August 2014 Pete was diagnosed with melanoma. It had already progressed to stage 4, resulting in a brain tumour, by the time he was diagnosed. A lot of people don't realise that the brain tumour stemmed from skin cancer (melanoma) and although Pete had no suspicious-looking moles, when they did a biopsy of his brain tumour, stage 4 melanoma was identified. This was a massive shock as Pete had no warning signs. Pete's brain tumour was a secondary cancer resulting directly from melanoma. After battling for 10 months, Pete passed away in June 2015.
Melanoma UK was set up to raise awareness of melanoma and to raise funds for vital research.
I have set up this page and would appreciate if anybody would like to sponsor me by donating money to Melanoma UK. Thank you :)
