34th Great Wilderness Challenge · 17 August 2019 ·

One of Scotland's most gruelling endurance sporting events for charity. The Great Wilderness Challenge more than aptly lives up to its name. Primarily a charity fund raising event the GWC has raised over £3.9 million for Healthcare charities since inception.

Story

Hi there! This will be my 6th or 7th 25 mile GWC - No year is the same, with different gruelling challenges and delights along the way. I love the camaraderie and spirit that everyone carries on the day, we are all here for same reasons, raising funds for much needed local causes as well as challenging ourselves.

The GWC raises funds for the Highland Hospice, MS Therapy Centre in Inverness, Crossroads Skye, Skye & Lochalsh young carers, Headway Highland, Gairloch Car Scheme and GAMS as well as many other local charities.

I have left it very last minute this year to ask for sponsors - So I totally understand if you have already sponsored someone in the community. However if you haven't and can spare a few pennies, I would appreciate a wee donation.

Fingers crossed for a breezy, midge free walk :)
