Marathon Des Sables (MdS) is the toughest foot race in the world. Covering approximately 250Km across the Saraha desert, this self sufficiency  5 day race is a test of endurance and survival in the extremes of the desert heat. www.marathondessables.co.uk

Wanting to memorably mark my 50th year, I choose this event to achieve a long term personal aim and allow me the opportunity to give something back to society through fundraising for a charity, which we all may one day benefit from (Cancer Research Uk) www.cancerresearchuk.org
