Hi all
6 months
ago I took up the challenge to enter the London Triathlon on 8th August. Unlike
most normal people who have never taken part in a triathlon, I decided to
enter the Olympic distance rather than the shorter sprint event. I will
therefore have the pleasure of enduring a 1,500m swim, 40km bike and then a
10km run. I hope to complete this in a little over 3 hours!
To make
the 6 months of training worthwhile I have decided to try and raise money for
Stop the Traffik.
STOP THE
TRAFFIK is a growing global movement of individuals, communities and
organisations fighting to PREVENT the sale of people, PROTECT the trafficked
and PROSECUTE the traffickers.
STOP THE TRAFFIK was set up in 2006 to
Educate: raise awareness and
understanding of human trafficking and what can be done about it
Advocate: engage with communities
and professionals to create an environment where it is harder to traffik,
hide and exploit people.
Fundraise: financing STOP THE TRAFFIK
projects and anti-trafficking activities around the world which work with
advocates, those vulnerable to and those who have been, trafficked. Visit
http://www.stopthetraffik.org for more information.
I hope you will join me in supporting this cause.
Geoff
