Story
This (quite frankly) bonkers adventure to cycle 335k across Jordan (feeling the full heat of the Middle East) started in March 2020, and was initially due to go ahead that summer, before the pandemic ravaged the world and plans got put on ice.
During the subsequent time, my father Charles sadly passed away. He was a great advocate for the ride and the worthy charities that it supported, so I'm now galvanized in my determination to complete this cycle ride in his memory - no pressure!
Just like my father, cycling does not come naturally to me. Kindred spirits, much more comfortable tackling a dessert, than a desert! But alas, here I find myself lycra in hand - this will very much be out of my comfort zone.
The cycle is in support of two fantastic charities that do outstanding work supporting those working in hospitality, as well as driving social mobility. Please do donate what you can and help spread the word.
Thanks for taking the time to read this fundraising story.
