Age is just a number - Time to raise awareness for Bowel Cancer...

To raise awareness for Bowel Cancer #Ageisjustanumber · 19 March 2017
On the 8th March 2017 our world came crashing down, My husband to be George Hands was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer at just 25years old.
After 12 months of going backwards and forward to the doctor's for bowel issues and being told it was Just constipation and being dismissed when the question got asked if it was Chrones or Cancer... all because of his age.
Enough was enough George was finally admitted to hospital after 6 hours of waiting in A&E.
2days passed with examinations, different medicines and still no movement.. CANCER was never mentioned because his to "Young" to have serious bowel conditions... one Doctor confirmed its nothing to worry about we "might" even send him home.
Another night in hospital it was now the 3rd day, more examinations, tests and still nothing so this time the main Doctor checked for himself.. and there it was the Tumour.
The next few days were a blurr, we were informed this is a RARE case , for a 25 year old to have Cancer, A tumour to be growing for 11 months, a Tumour that caused blockages, a Tumour that is cancer.
ALL BECAUSE OF HIS AGE IT CANCER WAS NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT.. 💔
AGE is just a number and if everyone was educated, was aware that Bowel Cancer can happen to anyone at any age then we wouldn't be in the position we are today.
George has been lucky enough to have been told they are looking to cure the cancer but first the Tumour must shrink before removal.
NOT EVERYONE IS AS LUCKY! All because of miss diagnosis.
We want to try our best as a team, A community to raise as much awarensss and funds as possible to help fund current and future research and to help try and save lives but also to make sure everyone is aware that age is just a number⏳.. nothing should ever be judged due to age!
We are staying positive with George 💙
CANCER WE ARE GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!
