Berlin Marathon 2021 · 26 September 2021 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On 27th September Zoë and I should have been taking part in the Berlin Marathon for Alzheimer’s Society, but unfortunately at the moment the marathon is postponed with no new date set.

I therefore thought I’d best set myself a new challenge, not only in an attempt to keep me fit and motivated but also in order to support the amazing work Alzheimer’s Society does.

So from midnight on 21st June, the summer solstice, I will be running one mile, every hour, on the hour for 24 hours. Even though I’ll be running this alone I’d be very grateful for any support offered, so if you fancy running a virtual mile with me let me know!

Working for a charity I know first hand how hard it is for so many worthwhile causes to raise such vital funding during such a difficult time. I’d therefore be grateful for any donations to keep me going.

Oh and of course Zoë and I will be running the Berlin Marathon when the new date is confirmed.

Thanks for all your support

George

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
