We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

Having just finished my first term of university I can confirm that the phrase ‘freshers fifteen/ 15lb freshers’ is fairly accurate. Freshers week alone seemed to move my belt hole position several spaces. As a result I think that getting an extra bit of exercise can do me no harm and the length of university summer holidays gives me plenty of time to do this. So I am planning to pop on my bicycle, cycling the whole way across America; a total of 4270 miles. Which if I succeed in doing will make me one the youngest Britons ever to complete the challenge.

I will be starting on the West coast in Seattle in mid June working my way in the direction of the pond for 9 weeks hopefully by the end of which I will have arrived at my destination; Boston. I say hopefully as for 9 weeks I will be cycling 80 miles a day, through all types of terrain, temperatures well into the high thirties and sleeping under canvas.

I am doing all of this in support of EACH which is a charity which provides invaluable support for children with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia. A donation (all of which goes to EACH) no matter how small will go a long way in helping these children and their families.
