Peak District Challenge 2021 · 3 July 2021 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

My dear aunt Hermione has Alzheimer's and has been declining distressingly for several years. The strain on her heroic husband, my wonderful uncle Jeremy, is considerable. Their three lovely sons and their wives and children do as much as anyone can, but all the problems have been exacerbated by a year of lockdown.

The Alzheimer's Society has been a huge help to Hermione and Jeremy. I want to support this excellent charity to continue helping my family and to help other families struck by this cruel disease.

On the weekend of 3rd/4th July, I'm walking the 100 km of the Bakewell Loop in the Peak District, camping overnight. This is my toughest challenge yet - eeek!
