Bye Bye Long Lockdown Locks · 24 April 2021

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Accidentally grew my hair during successive lockdowns. Now, it’s so heavy that I can’t even wear it as a bun anymore as it feels like having an extra head on top of my head. Washing and taming the beast in plaits takes 90 long mins. However, the end is near!

Thanks to my amazing hair-growing skills and inability to get it cut, it is now long enough to donate to young cancer sufferers and children experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss through the Little Princess Trust.

Each wig has a cost of £550 to supply and fit so every single penny you donate will make a huge difference to their invaluable work and help to make my hair donation worthwhile.

In addition to their free wig provision, they fund research into finding better treatments for childhood cancers (including neuroblastoma, leukaemia, teenage and young adult brain tumours, Wilms' and rhabdomyosarcoma) and a variety of less toxic treatments (including Immunotherapy, Proton Beam Therapy and Drug Repurposing).
