Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon 2010 · 14 March 2010 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

I have decided to run the Silverstone Half Marathon next year for charity. The half marathon is 13.1 miles long.

One of my silly goals in life is to run the London Marathon, and there’s no better way of training for that challenge with the '' warm up '' of the half.  The half marathon will be such a challenge. I have always been a physically weak person, I think we all know that, but I am a great believer anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it.  This will be my greatest physical challenge of my life as of yet, and I will complete it.  Not only for my chosen charity, but for myself.

I have chosen to run for the charity group ‘Sense ’. The charity is one which is huge yet fairly unrecognised currently. They provide care and support for children and adults who are blind deaf. The felt of loneliness is one which we’ve all felt, but the feeling disappears after time. For these people, that feeling will never disappear.

Sense however provide care and support where needed.  The link shows where any money collected will go and how it will change the lives of many.

Every single penny of your donation really does make a big difference to the lives of deafblind children and adults.

Any donations will be appreciated, literally £2 or £3 (price of a pint / drink) will go so far, however any donation will be gratefully accepted.

Alternatively, please visit the Sense website and read more about the amazing work carried out by the organisation.

Thank you for your time and support, it is unbelievably appreciated. I will keep you all posted of how training is progressing as the weeks pass!
