Story

Oli's Ski Fund

So 2011 has begun and Rich and I decided we need a challenge, something to train for? After a lot of consideration we decided to cycle the length of Great Britain from north to south, John O’Groats to Lands End. Yes I know what your thinking ‘Against the wind?’ but its downhill right??? Anyway once we arrive we get a holiday in Cornwall to recover!
We will hopefully complete this in 10 days at the beginning of July,
So while doing this we decided to raise some money for a very worth while cause Cumbria Cerebral Palsy and in particular our friend Oli Cunningham.

Oli is 5 years old and has cerebral palsy which effects him physically and verbally but not cognitively. He is a very bright little man. Oli talks using a computer that he operates with his eyes. He goes to mainstream primary school and has a great time. He loves playing with buzz lightyear, his train set which he controls using his computer and skiing. He goes to Kendal slope every month and waits his turn for a go on the sit ski. He's been on real snow at the Chill factor as a xmas treat and loved it. Nothing stops Oli trying new things and having fun. He loves the bumps and steep way down the slope and going fast.

Oli copes well and enjoys life. He's learning to drive a power chair. He goes  to a centre for kids with cp twice a year in London and he has weekly physio, speech therapy and is facing some pretty big surgery in the next 2 years to keep his hips in place. Having things to look forward to is really important.

We are planning to take Oli skiing in the Alps.
We hope to raise as much money as possible so any donations will be gratefully received.
