Banger Car Rally · 24 February 2017

We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

In February 2017 a group of former Household Cavalrymen will take part in a car rally along the D-Day beaches in Normandy  to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund. The teams have a to provide , drive and maintain a car costing less then £300 across the rally with time gates and checkpoints to navigate over the two days  of the event.

The ABF provide a lifetime of support to Soldiers and their Families when they are in need. Making grants to individuals  whether they are at home or living abroad . They take pride in responsive to people needs at critical times in their lifes and have done so since 1944. The significance of the car rally driving along the route of which  the Allied forces fought along in 1944 is to mark the contribution  of the ABF to the Veterans community  much of which goes unseen or unmarked .

The vision of the ABF is  that all Soldiers and their Families should have the opportunity to  avoid hardship and  lead independent and dignified lives.
