Story
In 2013 we found out that my younger sister Sarah had bowel cancer. It took months for her to be diagnosed and even the week she was rushed to hospital and had a large tumour removed, she was told not to worry by her GP because she was too young for it to be cancer.
Bowel Cancer UK know that you are #nevertooyoung and that an early diagnosis is key to surviving this disease. I’m going to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October to help them raise awareness and fund the research needed to prevent more people dying. The event is on 14th October 2018, which is the day after the 5th anniversary of her dying at just 35 years old.
Now pretty much anyone who knows me knows that I’d usually rather do anything than exercise for exercise’s sake but 2018 has seen a change and running (or slow jogging to be more accurate) is it. Please donate whatever you can afford because, without the financial incentive, I’m worried I won’t get to the finish line!!!
