Story
"Bendrigg Trust challenges perceptions of disabled and disadvantaged people through adventurous activities. Just £40 can support a person with a disability to try climbing for the first time and start to believe in what they can do, rather than what they think they can't. At Bendrigg we help people take part in activities they never dreamt possible due to their disability or social disadvantage. Thank you for helping to make dreams a reality and to allow everyone to achieve through adventure."
I visited the Bendrigg Trust back in October last year (2017) where I volunteered at the centre. I was welcomed by all staff and I got to see first hand the fantastic work they deliver for people. I left that day feeling inspired and wanting to make a difference!
As part of the Bendrigg Trusts 40th anniversary this year, they're seeking supporters to help raise a record amount of funds to continue their work. They are looking for 40 people (individuals or teams) to commit to raising £1,000 each during 2018 in whatever way they wish!
I have decided to help by attempting to fundraise £1,000 for them this year. I will be doing this by putting on and taking part in some events. The first event is this Friday (27.4.18) in Swindon, hosting a skittles do for friends and family to enjoy. Challenges that I have signed up to throughout the year are the Leeds Traithlon, RideLondon, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and the Great North Run.
I will keep you updated with my progress along the way. Thank you for viewing my page and if you wish to support me, please donate.
