I’ve decided to run the half marathon to raise money for a charity very close to my heart. 

My son Charles was born 12 weeks early which came as a huge shock to us, Charles weighed just over 2 pounds when he was born and he was rushed to the Trevor Mann baby unit. As I was recovering from the operation after catching sepsis, the nurses and specialists took care of my baby before I could be reunited with him the next day.  We were told to take each day as it came and to pray our baby would survive the fight ahead of him. 

Charles spent two months in hospital before we were finally able to take him home weighing just over 5 pounds. It was a day and feeling I will never forget! 

Charles’s success story is testiment to the amazing care and support he received from the wonderful doctors and nurses. They provide 24 hour care for your little ones and also amazing support for us parents to help us through the darker days. 

We can’t put into words how grateful we are, so to show our appreciation we would love to raise £1000 for this unit where they really do make miracles happen.
