25 May 2010

I have started my training in earnest now, 30 miles a week.

I am going to vist my old boy tomorrow, tidy his garden, listen to my mum, break up there week it just seems like yesterday when he got the Big C. I can remember coming back from holiday and he was in Crosshouse Hospital with a 7 inch scar on his shoulder and neck, I couldn't wait to show him the bruise I had on my leg from when I fell of a jet ski! That was 15 years ago.

Since then he has had several more operation's and treatments.

Being a little more careful with money than I'll ever be, he managed to retire at the age of 55, and he has spent everday with my mum since then, although I am sure there have been a few days when my mum had wished he had his work to go too!

The past couple of weeks have been hard for my mum, I went to see him last week he was a big man 6 foot 3 inches and I saw him sitting in "his chair" he doesn't fill it any more, he is in a lot of pain, and he is tired, but he is still the boss, he took me out to his garage and showed me where everything was, getting his house in order, it took me all my time not to cry, I just gave him a big hug and told him not too worry.

I probably have never told him how much he means to me, how much I love him, and what a great dad he has been and still is, I think we are all a little guilty of that, aren't we?

24 June 2010

I  am just back from the hospital, where all our wishes were answered, my dad has had a really tough two weeks and we wished he would go to sleep and not waken up. Our wish has came true.

For those who have donated already my dad loved all your comments, he became very proud of this web page, and told every one about it.

I too am very proud of this and it is a great source of pleasure and comfort for myself and my family.

On behalf of the big man, a big thank you .

Rest in peace dad we're all going to miss you.
