Richard House Children’s Hospice supports children and their families in East London to lead as positive and happy a life as possible when dealing with a life-limiting health condition. Our services support the whole family, from residential clinical care, to music therapy to end of life care.

Story

Richard House Children's Hospice based in East London, provides palliative care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across London providing residential clinical care, to music therapy to enable a child with sensory needs to communicate through sound, to end-of-life care with pre and post bereavement support for all the family.

For the past few years the firm I work for (Baker McKenzie) has partnered with Richard House as their local charity so I have experienced the brilliant care and support that is provided to the children and their families. Being given the opportunity to run the 40th London Marathon to raise money for this superb charity is an honour.

As some may know I've only been running for a few years and I never imagined I would (or could) attempt to run such a long distance, even now 26.2 miles seems a ridiculous number! However I love a fitness challenge so I've thrown myself headlong into training and have set myself a target of running a sub-4 hour marathon. How much 'sub' remains to be seen but simply knowing that my endeavours will be raising vital funds for the Richard House charity will be enough of a spur to drive me along. If you are so inclined you can follow my training plan (or maybe it should be called 'training pain') via this link...   https://www.strava.com/dashboard?feed_type=my_activity

I really appreciate any support you can give me in the way of sponsorship.

Thank you so much, Grant
