Macmillan Cancer Support

We support people affected by cancer to make sure no one faces cancer alone

Story

Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm riding in a series of sportive cycle events this year and am hoping to raise a lot of money for charity in the process.

I'm starting with the Etape Caledonia on the 15th of May and have been training hard over winter to be sure of giving it a good crack of the whip and hopefully getting round it's hilly 130km in a respectable time.  I'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support who do vital work in combating a disease that touches millions of people in the UK every year, and I'm sure most people reading this will have either had to deal with it themselves, or unfortunately like me, know someone very close to you that has.  Either way, it's a terrible illness, and anything you sponsor me for or donate will be going straight to them to allow the to continue to give comfort and hope to those who really need it.  I'll be putting everything into the ride I can and thinking about a former employer and friend who died very suddenly and far too young from an aggressive cancer. He was a great father, grandfather, boss and friend, and loved getting out running, biking and living life whilst making a lot of other people very happy, and he is sorely missed.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I'd be very grateful for any support you can offer, large or small, it all makes a difference and will spur me on as my wee legs churn up those hills.

Thanks!
