Story
I'm taking part in the South West Coast 2 Coast Challenge on 24th-25th July which is 102km over 2 days - from Minehead, Somerset to Dawlish, Devon. This walk stretches across areas of countryside that mean a great deal to me, and I'm challenging myself for a cause that I feel extremely passionate about.
I've spent a great deal of this year walking in beautiful places with friends. It's been a key factor in managing my mental wellbeing during this enormously challenging year. Some people haven't had access to this kind of support structure, and that's why I'm taking this opportunity to raise money for Samaritans.
What better charity to raise funds for by walking 102km with friends than one that seeks to provide connection and support for those who need it most.
Every day, Samaritans volunteers respond to around 10,000 calls for help. They're here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. They offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need.
