Welcome to the HR5km 2017 annual charity run fundraising page!

A sobering fact - 7 teenagers are diagnosed with cancer every day.  To put it another way, the equivalent of our entire student body (and more) will be diagnosed with cancer in just one year.  Currently, teenagers are treated on childrens' or adults' wards.  Teenage Cancer Trust aims to change all that by building units specifically designed to meet the needs of teenagers and to give them as normal a life as possible during their treatment. 

In the last 9 years, Hills Road College has raised over £56,500 for the TCT Unit at Addenbrookes hospital, Cambridge.  On April 26th, staff and students will attempt to turn 5k into 10k by running, walking, hopping and skipping our way round a 5km course in a bid to raise an extra £10,000 for this fantastic charity. 

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our sponsor ARM Ltd., we have taken a logo designed by one of our students and produced unique T-shirts which may start the race white but will certainly end it as a riot of colour, in joyful celebration of the fun that all teenagers, even those facing life-changing illness, should have in their lives, - and to mark 10 years of raising money for charity through our annual run.
