Story
This March, I have challenged myself to take on HYROX to help raise money for people living with cancer.
HYROX combines both running and functional workout stations, where us crazy people run 1km, followed by a functional workout station (1000m ski erg, 102kg sled push for 50m, 78kg sled pull for 50m, 1000m row, 10kg weighted lunges 80m, 200m farmers walk (going to run with 32kg) 80m burpee long jump, 4kg wall balls (squat and throw to a target at 2.7m 100 times)…tired??!!
If you’re reading this page you probably know me and the challenges I’ve put myself through over the last few years, running, swimming and the two combined…well HYROX seemed easy in comparison to the Welsh swim run is all I’m saying. You’ll also know that I've had much loved family and friends survive and succumb to cancer and I’m doing this with mum, Harry, John and Al in mind, to name but a few. Keep me running and training hard to have a good day on 16 March and provide much needed support to those suffering and supporting people with cancer.
I'd be so grateful if you could help me reach my £400 pledge, which could run the Macmillan Support Line phone service for 1 hour. It may seem like that’s not very much but it’ll be less without your support.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from you.
Thank you!
