We work in disadvantaged communities to improve literacy skills and life chances

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 7th May 2017, a team of Hachette employees, suppliers, friends and family will be taking on the ambitious task of cycling 200 miles from their London office to their Paris office, all in aid of the National Literacy Trust.

We have chosen to support a literacy charity because we want more children to unlock their potential and find their passion for reading.

Sadly, a third of disadvantaged children in the UK leave primary school unable to read well enough to succeed in secondary school, severely reducing their chance of leading a happy and successful life. The National Literacy Trust works with schools, parents and local communities to counteract that and increase literacy levels in the poorest communities across the UK.

It is vital that we act now to help the children living in these deprived communities and give them the literacy skills they need to succeed in life.

All donations from this event will help disadvantaged children gain the literacy skills they need to succeed in life. Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
