Heiii yall, i’m Anca and my love for the ocean and its wildlife truly began a few years ago when I was swimming alongside sea turtles. But that same day, I also saw a sea urchin trapped in a piece of plastic, struggling to escape. That image stayed with me. It was a reminder that our oceans, and the creatures that call them home, need our help.

Also, I recently learned that if global temperatures keep rising past 1.5°C, most coral reefs could disappear, and those reefs support around 25% of marine life. Corals are actually living animals, and entire ocean ecosystems depend on them

So I'm running the 2026 Hackney Half Marathon to help WWF restore the natural world. With nature in freefall, they’re finding solutions so that future generations can enjoy a world with thriving habitats and wildlife. But they can't do it alone.
