Hair Harvest Donation · 13 October 2012

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

You have the hair, so you have the power

After watching a programme about chidren who suffer from hair loss through treatment for cancer, I was really moved and wanted to help these children in any way I could - this is how I learnt of The Little Princess Trust. This charity helps such children by collecting real hair and money donations to provide them with real human hair wigs which are otherwise very expensive.

As a Saturday assistant at The Stuart Holmes Hair and Beauty Spa in Cheltenham and inspired by the work of The Little Princess Trust I thought it would be amazing if we could hold an event for the general public to come to the Salon to donate a minimum of 7 inches of their hair to make real hair wigs for cancer patient children as well have providing a free makeover for the donors.

Since that initial idea The Stuart Holmes Salon and Beauty Spa and I, working closely with the charity, have created such an event which is to be held over the last two weeks of November and already the response has been amazing with a huge number of people already signing up to donate their locks! As a big thank you for donating their hair, all donors will receive a makeover with a free hair cut, style and blow dry by one of the top stylists ast this award winning Salon. I too will be donating my hair for this great cause. Don't miss out on your chance to be part of this amazing event!

We want as many people to donte their hair as it takes 8 pony tails to creat just one wig for a child who has suffered hair loss as a side effect to their treatment for cancer. If you are interested in donating your hair at our 'Hair Harvest' event then call on 01242 220001 to book your place.

If your hair is not long enough but wish to support our cause, then please make a donation as The Little Princess Trust not only needs hair donations but also needs to fund the making of the wigs, with each wig costing £350 to make. Our have therefore made our target donation £700 as a minimum, to ensure we can pay for two wigs to be made to help two families and two young children who are fighting for their lives but of course would love to help more if we can. We want to help the charity and the families as much as we can, so help us to help others.
