Story
We have all been affected by Cancer at one time in our lives, be it friends, family or ourselves.
In October 2008 it came into mine when my Mum was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. There is no cure for this Cancer and usually when it is picked up it is far to late to treat. My Mum was a courageous woman and those who knew her will know how with dignity, courage and strength she fought this terrible disease. It was with humour, love and amazing spirit she battled on...... But on the 31st of July 2009, like the true lady she was, she left us peacefully.
My Mum was part of a clinical trial for Pancreatic Cancer Research and endured more treatment then she wanted or needed to provide the Doctors and specialists with vital information they so desperately needed to help others. Her one worry when she left the trial was that she had given all she could to help fight this disease. She had, and so much more than she will ever know.
My Mum was my hero, my friend and my teacher. There is not a day that goes by I do not beam with pride at the honour of being her daughter.
On the 21st of March 2010 Beth and I will be taking part in the Reading Half Marathon in aid of the Pancreatic Cancer UK charity. It will be with immense pride that we will be running for this AMAZING cause.
As asking for money is never easy, especially in this turbulent financial climate......Beth and I have devised a somewhat cunning plan..... :o)
We are asking for £2 from everyone. It's true what they say about "every little helps" and this is certainly true in this case. So please if you can, get hunting down the back of the sofa, dig deep in those pockets and rummage through the car because WE NEED YOU!
Thank you, as always for your love and support.
