Story

Waxing done! That was painful! Sky dive postponed to August 14th as on the 8th I'd have been blown of course! Confirmed abseiling for Sep 11th at 230pm. If any one reading this has any more crazy ideas to chuck in, feel free to fire away 😀

In 1985 I received my first Pacemaker at the age of 4yrs old. Whilst my operation and care was under Guys Hospital, Evelina are a huge part of making it possible for parents to be with their children; for their kids to feel a fun environment; and what's more, this doesn't stop there. I had my past operation on August 8th at St Thomas but in the kids wing! I've watched this place grow and I've seen and experienced first hand what they do, whilst all under the care of my cardiologist Prof Eric Rosenthal, who has looked after me since I was a kid too. I can't put in to words how amazing they are and whilst financially, I could never give back what I feel I owe them, hopefully I can raise a bit of money for Evelina and help go towards other children and their families experiencing the care, compassion and also, fun, that I did. So I will be throwing myself out of a plane at 15000ft and also getting a fully body wax. Those that know me, will understand that I'm pretty damn hairy!

I am also doing this in the memory of 3 very special children who were with me in the early years in hospital but sadly didn't get to live the life I've had. Hannah, Graeme and Leroy, not a day goes by I don't think of them. I used to listen to Michael Jackson with Graeme, phone the operator from the pay phone and tell them we were hungry and needed money with Leroy, and Hannah used to eat the middle of my chips and leave me the ends 💚  Without Guys and St Thomas and Evelina, I wouldn't have got to meet these 3 special friends.

The jump is 3yrs to the day from my last op, the wax is TBC but hopefully around the same time.

For myself, its also a bit of a "yes" moment. I've wanted to do this for a few years but firstly, I was far too fat and secondly, covid got in the way last year. This year, I'm slimmer can jump and I'm confident enough to strip down to my smalls and have a full body wax!

To clarify, I'm paying for this all myself so your donations will be going straight to Evelina.

Thank you to everyone who donates and/or shares. Much love to you all. Hanif
