Story

My father was a determined, active and courageous man who would always strive to be the best version of himself no matter what the circumstances. He would work tirelessly to give his family a good quality of life.

However in October 2019  our lives changed forever as he was sadly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer was so far spread, we were told that it was incurable. Nevertheless my father was willing to fight through it and never gave up hope, even up until the end.

He would positively attend every chemotherapy session with a smile on his face, determined to get better no matter how weak it was making him.

Unluckily, due to the pandemic, his treatment was forced to cease, which resulted in his deterioration. Although this was heartbreaking for my family, his faith did not waver. He put his trust in Allah and continued to persevere despite the discontentment.

However, given that his health was deteriorating, the doctors suggested a stronger form of chemotherapy whereby we were informed that it would increase his life span or limit his days. Nonetheless, this was a risk my father was willing to take for his family; which was a reflection of his determination and willpower.

Unfortunately, the chemotherapy responded negatively and majorly impacted my fathers health to the point where he could no longer walk, eat, drink or speak. This resulted in the doctors informing us that there was nothing more they could do, and to prepare for the worst.

Although at this point my father was practically bed bound, he would insist on us allowing him to continue with his daily activities, reflecting how much of a determined, active and courageous man he really was.

Sadly on the 8th of August 2020, my father was called back to his creator.

Verily to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
