Story
Hannah Davies was a committed performer and determined proponent of Early Music. For many years, she ran the Border Marches Early Music Forum (BMEMF). As Grayston Burgess, co- founder of BMEMF, wrote "she worked constantly and tirelessly. Her enthusiasm and winning smile were hard to resist and her unwavering dedication to early music seemed to carry her along effortlessly whatever the difficulties.". Hannah's commitment to promoting the enjoyment of Early Music was clear when she established the Early Music weeks in Giarole, northern Italy. David Allinson, who taught at many Giarole weeks, described Hannah as "a life-affirming, open and creative person who had the knack of combining people in social and musical concord ... she made things happen."
In 2015, just over 60 years after she graduated from the University of Bristol, Hannah died.
