The event has been postponed due to covid 19 so I am now taking part in a virtual 10k on the 24/10/2020 to raise money for the Macmillan day unit are the Royal Derby Hospital ❤️

Having recently overcoming pneumonia I have wanted to set myself a challenge where I can help others. To some 10K may not seem a long distance but I am having to train really hard to build up my stamina to take part in this event. 

 I currently work for the Macmillan day unit at the Royal Derby hospital and I can see how a small donation can make a huge difference to patients and family members. In the day unit we are a family where we welcome outpatients and inpatients to come and take part in therapeutic interventions. These interventions can help patients cope with their illness, make friends, relax, creatively express themselves but most importantly have fun! 

The unit is for patients with advanced progressive and life limiting illness, this includes patients with cancer and non malignant diseases such as motor neurone disease and organ failure. Your donations are used to provide patients the best possible quality of life.

This is also to support a cause that is very close to my heart.
