Amsterdam Marathon 2022 · 16 October 2022 ·

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.

Story

Before Hannah got sick five years ago, running a marathon was on her bucket list. Now she too unwell, and has had to make now goals and dreams, so Tom and Tilly (her boyfriend and her best friend) are running one for her.

Hannah lives with multiple chronic illnesses, but M.E was what started it all. She lost her independence, multiple jobs and chances to live like other twenty somethings.

"As many as 265,000 people in the UK live with ME/CFS. It is a life-changing and indiscriminate neurological condition that affects adults and children from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. It can lead to long-term disability and a lower quality of life than multiple sclerosis or cancer."
