Story
The Salvation Army in Harold Hill (Petersfield Avenue) is working with other agencies in the community to support those who are isolated and vulnerable. This is part of our ongoing work throughout the year, but due to the Coronavirus Pandemic the demand for practical help has greatly increased.
We have set up a program offering fresh food along with tinned and packet food for anyone who is in need and requiring extra help. We are also delivering hot meals once a week, which are being supplied by a local company, to those who are isolated and vulnerable. During the week ending 15th May 2020 we delivered 70 hot meals and provided 28 families with food supplies and toiletries.
ALL MONEY DONATED TO THIS PAGE WILL BE USED TO SUPPORT LOCAL PEOPLE WHO ARE IMPACTED BY THE CORONAVIRUS AND UNABLE TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THEMSELVES.
The Salvation Army is a Christian Church and registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Republic of Ireland the work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and varied practical help to people in crisis and need, and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction.
